RISE 1.0 - Research Internship Programme on Research Methodology and Data Analytics

The RISE – 2 Weeks Research Internship Programme on Research Methodology and Data Analytics was successfully organized by CSIBER, Kolhapur, with the objective of enhancing research competencies and analytical skills among students, research scholars, academicians, and professionals. The programme offered a comprehensive blend of research methodology, statistical analysis, data analytics, emerging technologies, and experiential learning through expert lectures, hands-on sessions, and field visits.

The internship commenced with sessions on research methodology, covering research ethics and integrity, research design, problem formulation, hypothesis development, literature review, research gap identification, sampling techniques, questionnaire design, and qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Participants also engaged in practical activities focused on identifying research gaps and developing sound research practices.
The programme provided extensive training in data analytics using industry-relevant tools. Participants learned data handling, cleaning, validation, advanced Excel functions, dashboards, regression and correlation analysis, data visualization, SPSS for descriptive and inferential statistics, reliability analysis, hypothesis testing, non-parametric tests, and interpretation of statistical outputs. Advanced sessions introduced participants to Python using NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly for exploratory data analysis, visualization, and statistical testing, followed by Power BI for data transformation, modeling, DAX functions, and interactive dashboard development.

To familiarize participants with emerging trends in research, the internship included dedicated sessions on Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, Generative AI, AI-powered literature review, ethical use of AI, plagiarism detection tools, and research report writing with proper referencing and citation practices.
Beyond academics, the programme incorporated experiential learning through an industrial visit, NGO visit, cultural immersion activities, bonfire, and educational visits to Panhala Fort, the New Palace Museum, and Mahalaxmi Temple, providing participants with opportunities for cultural exchange, networking, and holistic development.

The internship featured lectures and practical sessions delivered by eminent academicians and experts from prestigious institutions, including North-West University (South Africa), IIM Shillong, Manipal University Jaipur, and senior faculty members of CSIBER, Kolhapur, ensuring participants received both global perspectives and practical insights.

The programme concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, participant feedback session, and certificate distribution, marking the successful completion of the two-week internship. The RISE programme equipped participants with strong foundations in research methodology, statistical analysis, data analytics, AI-enabled research tools, and scientific writing, empowering them to undertake high-quality research and make data-driven decisions in academic, professional, and industry settings.
